If you want to eat lots of really good fish dishes and spend almost no money (sorry but who doesn’t???), I can absolutely recommend the restaurant SALERNO di Petrosino Giuditta e C. Sas…in SAPRI (Campania).
I’ve eaten so much there, just because it was all too delicious, that I didn’t have any space left for my desert. And, I can assure you, that doesn’t happen very often!! I’ll just show you what we got. We were in 4 by the way…
- Starter / Antipasto :
- First Course / Primo (Spaghetti alle vongole):
- Another First Course (Pasta di anelli di calamari alle cozze):
- Second course / Secondo (Fritto Misto):
- Another second course (Grigliata Mista) – even though it is grilled they love to put olive oil on anything, so here as well:
Besides all these yummy dishes we got 2 bottles of white wine, 2 bottles of water, 3 sorbet (none for me), 3 caffè and a delicious melon liquor for only € 25,- each!!!!
La vita è bella in the South!!

All that fish food…definitely not a staple diet up here in the Alps!!!
Hahaha, well I love the mountain food as well…once in a while at least!!
What a fabulous way to eat your way through Italy. Guess what I am on my way to Italy in the first week of October!!! I will be contacting you later as I have some questions. Take care, BAM
Wow, great!! Yes, contact me anytime…happy to answer your questions
Where are you going exactly??
I lived in milan half the year for 5 years. I worked in fashion so I got to travel around italy quite a bit. Its where I learned to cook. I grew up eating boxed cereal for breakfast and canned soup for dinner- In Italy I learned Its all about using fresh local ingredients. My favorite weekend trip was to take the train to Santa Margherita, then the bus to Portofino then hike to Sanfruttoso to sit on the beach and eat grilled fish. Heaven!
Wow, wonderful!! Yes that sounds like a lot of fun and yummy grilled fish on the beach….yes I agree, that’s heaven indeed! You now live in Beverly Hills..seen your blog’s name??
Yes, its beautiful, California is my home. We did get to a wedding near Lucca this summer and saw Stressa which I had never been to before. It was gorgeous! Im glad you’re writing about all the wonderful places off the beaten path in italy. There are hidden gems around every corner. Enjoy!
Thanks….O wow…I’ve been to southern California (stayed in Yorba Linda near Anaheim and traveled around from there) last summer for the first time, and we simply fell in love with it! Luca still dreams of living there one day
Well happy that you enjoy my blog and will follow yours as well!! Have a nice day!
